China’s holdings of U.S. debt hit a record of $1.317 trillion last November. The debt value has been declining since then, but the decrease is minimal. China so far remains the biggest foreign holder of U.S. Treasury debt.
The U.S. trade deficit with China set a new record at $318.7 billion in 2013.
The 2012 trade gap was $315 billion.
